S&G Construction Inc. takes whole-house remodels on homes across Orange County, California, and in Long Beach, Lakewood and the Inland Empire, under CSLB Lic. #1113089.
What counts as a full home remodel?
A full remodel is one project covering most or all of a house, rather than a single room on its own. In practice that usually means the kitchen and the bathrooms together with flooring, paint and finishes running through the rest of the house, and often changes to how the rooms relate to each other: a wall coming out, a hallway disappearing, a room changing what it is for.
The reason people do it as one project rather than four is that the trades overlap. Plumbing, electrical, drywall, flooring and paint all touch more than one room, and sequencing them once is different work from sequencing them four times. It also means the finishes match, which is harder to achieve room by room over several years than people expect.
What drives the scope?
The size of the house sets the floor. After that it comes down to how much of the existing layout stays, how much of the kitchen and bathrooms are in scope, and the level of finish. Then there is what the house turns out to be hiding. Older homes in this part of California routinely need electrical or plumbing attention once the walls are open, and a remodel is the moment that gets dealt with properly rather than worked around.
How much does a full home remodel cost?
Square footage, how far the layout moves, which rooms are included, the finishes, and whatever the structure and systems need. Those five together are the number. A free estimate at the house is the only honest way to produce one.
