S&G Construction Inc. remodels bathrooms in homes across Orange County, California, and in Long Beach, Lakewood and the Inland Empire, under CSLB Lic. #1113089.
What does a bathroom remodel involve?
Visibly: tile, a vanity, fixtures, lighting and either a tub or a shower. Invisibly, and more importantly, waterproofing behind all of it. A bathroom is the one room in a house built to get wet every day, and the membrane and backer behind the tile are what decide whether that is fine for twenty years or a problem in three. It is also the part nobody can inspect once the job is done, which is worth knowing when comparing two prices that look different.
The layout is the other variable. Leaving the toilet, sink and tub where they are keeps the plumbing where it is. Moving any of them, or turning a tub into a walk-in shower, means new drain and supply work and usually a different floor build-up to get the slope right.
Is a walk-in shower worth doing?
It is one of the most common requests, and in a house with more than one bathroom it is usually straightforward to justify. It is not a swap of one fixture for another: the drain position often changes, the waterproofing covers a larger wet area, and the tile work expands with it.
How much does a bathroom remodel cost?
Size matters less here than in other rooms. What moves the number is whether the fixtures stay put, the tile and vanity chosen, and what the walls turn out to contain, which in older homes can mean plumbing or framing work that was not visible from the outside.
What S&G Construction takes on
Full-scope residential projects only. A bathroom remodel is a project we take. Replacing a single fixture is not: we do not take on handyman work, small repairs, or basic installations.
